This week versus Melbourne Uni brings different challenges to all XIs but there is still one common objective 4 wins. Multiple changes have been made in all XIs this round, all based around form. After last week’s close loss to Prahran, Gloury, Smith, Reynolds and Buhgiar come into the team to show there good form throughout the year. Melbourne Uni sit below the ECC so a big performance is needed as the bombers have been so close on too many occasions. The ECC enjoyed the brilliant touch of Berger scoring 140no with skipper Hutchinson chipping in for 55 but these performances need to continue this week against Uni. An all round team effort will get the bombers over the line. The 2nd XI will be looking to bounce back against Uni after falling 30 runs short last week but do come off a brilliant win in the one day preliminary final against Northcote showing no ill effects from the loss against Prahran. Only four points separate both teams on the ladder with ECC sitting 10th and Uni sitting 6th. MacRae, Collins and Dickinson are due for runs but Johnstone, Andrews and Hussey are also due for wickets. Kennedy with his madian hundred and Reece with 98 are welcomed back up the grades hoping to continue their good form. The 2nd XI has fought well all year and should produce the goods against their higher ranked opponents. The efforts of Kennedy, Reece and Patton were not enough to get the bombers over the line in the top of the table clash. Both teams walked away with a draw. The 3rd XI still hold onto the 2nd position on the ladder and should be a handful of Uni who are sitting 14th on the ladder. Joass has been presented with an opportunity after his 76 in the 4th XI. The likes of Hashmi, Hussain, Castellas and Dyke are all due for some big performances as the Horner’s have been shared for week to week among the players. The 4th XI are on a 2 game winning streak as they take on Uni this week. Joass (76), Perczyk (69) and Sabatino (61) produced the goods against Prahran. The 4th XI have worked their way into form by playing team cricket and working towards plans which have been met. This is a big match as finals are on the line. Palmer and Robortaccio are due for wickets along with Stephens and Cooper with runs. Uni may sit 4th but the match will be well balanced.
